Seth Trahan Update

Seth's body was returned to Crowley friday evening. I understand all of Crowley was lining the streets waving flags as he arived. The waiting line at the funeral home to talk with the family was up to 4 long. Out the door! They even had to setup a screen for people to watch the service from another building by video because there was no more room in the church.

Now that's the way to honor a fallen hero! I wish I could have been there.

Konfabulator!

just discovered the Konfabulator! it's sweet app that runs mini programs on the desktop for easy use. check it out. i think it's the same widget engine they will be using in Mac OS X Tiger (it'll be called dashboard). don't worry, it runs on mac and windows. i got bored with the default widgets quick and have already downloaded quite a few more: iTunes Companion, Translator, RSS reader, TV Listings, Blogger Bot, ESPN News, and a website monitor. Pretty heavy on CPU resources though! not running too bad on the mac, but i'm gonna have to drop a few widgets off the screen before too long. good thing i'm running the CPU monitor as a widget! here's a pic from their website

offer

found a house. made an offer but they say it may take a bit for them to accept since it's a bank property. we'll see if it works out.

house shopping again

we went from bad to worse with the dirtyness in these houses. but then... out from nowhere... the perfect house. well, maybe. probably. it was bank owned so noone was living in it. that was definately nice. better than seeing someone's junk all over. and suprisingly in good shape.

as far as the coffee at the office today... bad. i'm gonna just have to start making coffee to bring in again. it isn't as convienent, but it sure tastes alot better.

house shopping

we spent several hours yesterday looking for houses. not an easy thing to do. you'd think with 3,000 houses for sale here it would be easy to find something. what i don't get is how these people think they will sell a house when they keep it so dirty. when all you can think about is how bad it smells and looks... well, you get the idea. anyway, based on the online search tools, i'm convinced the perfect house doesn't exist. [try for yourself] guess it's time for another miracle. and another cup of coffee!

flavors

dude, i think someone is sneaking some hazelnut flavor into the coffee while i'm not looking. that sure is a sneaky trick. i guess i'm a purist. i do sweeten it to taste sometimes, but try to stay away from that flavor'd cafe.

contract

just got a contract on the house. we've been trying to sell it for over 3 months and the market finally picked up. personally, i think a few desperate prayers had alot to do with it. i might have to sit back and drink a nice cup of coffee. booyah!

Community Coffee

starting it off right... this coffee is simply the best! To be specific, the dark roast is my favorite. The best part about this coffee is that is does not get bitter 15 minutes after you make it. Once I even made the coffee in the morning and had a cool cup at 3:00 pm and it tasted great. Cold, but not bitter at all. That's the true test to a good cup of coffee!

The only big problem is it is rarely sold other than in Louisiana. It can be shipped from their website to your door... or do like me. Just stock up when visiting family!
