life after baseball
i have stayed up so many nights this month watching baseball games that i don't know what to do now. guess i'll try to go to sleep. rest up for next season!

luke skywalker
we found a dog today. he is a tricolor austrailian shepherd... black with white and gold markings. cute little thing. hasn't done much but sleep so far. we named him luke (or luke skywalker depending on which one of the kids you ask).

i should mention... one thing that i keep thinking about in this book is when he tries to explain God and his word using math and science. while there is overwhelming evidence in my opinion, some people have said that the story of creation, miracles, etc.. do not line up with what we know about science. well, his response is that if we believe that God is amazing enough to create everything we know, why should we put him in a box and limit his abilities to what we know about math and science. maybe there are a few things we don't understand (and won't in this world). that is were faith comes in. think about it.

mom brought me 5 more packs of community coffee. booyah!!! we now have nearly a whole shelf in the pantry dedicated to coffee. that's pathetic. ha!

astros win!
i just watched the longest post-season game ever... houston and atlanta going at it for 18 innings. i figured this series was sure to go to 5 games and back to atlanta when the astros were down 1-6 in the 8th, but a grandslam and an extra home run in the 9th tied it up. the ball game went scoreless for 9 more innings. houston used every singe pitcher they had in the bullpin and even had to call out "the rocket" with only 2 days rest. sadly, i didn't have time to watch the broncos game, but i figure you don't get to see 18 inning wins to go to the NLCS just anyday.

mlb postseason
the major league baseball postseason is on! i don't really have to tell you how excited i am about that do i? ok, i'm pulling for the houston astros this year. it's a long shot, but anything is possible. hey, even last year's world series winner (boston red sox) is in the wildcard spot too.NL looks like this:
San Diego Padres vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Houston Astros vs. Atlanta Braves
AL looks like this:
New York Yankees vs. L.A. Angles
Boston Red Sox vs. Chicago White Sox
the Sox games should be fun just because of the name. not to mention that the White Sox are smokin' this year. the world series will start game 1 on Saturday, October 22. game 7 (if needed) will be Oct 30th. oh, did i mention hunting season is on too?! i love October!!!
