i can read!!!

well, as most of you know... i don't care much for reading books. i don't know if it's that i'm just tired of reading code from work and need a change of pace, or if i just get bored. perhaps it's a little of both. i especially get tired of being let down by these authors of non-fiction books that are spiritual or motivationally based. they seem to have good stuff in the first 2 chapters and it all goes downhill quick. everything from chapter 3 until the last seems to me like they were just trying to fill up space to meet some publisher's page quota. they just keep repeating themselves, saying the same thing in different ways and just simply rambling on. i have decided that next time i will read the first 2 and the last and just pretend i read everything in between.

well, i may have turned a new chapter in my life. rick gave me a copy of vince flynn's transfer of power and i couldn't put it down. i surprised myself. 550 page paperback in a week. i loved it! i guess i'm into stories. enough self-help and informational/motivational books for me. i want to be completely drawn into the fake story and not even care that it isn't real life. i liked it so much, i decided to get the bourne identity from the library tonight.

frozen apple

well, my computer decided to start freezing up so i havn't been blogging much lately. i had to bring it to the local apple shop. i mean, apple's don't just do that sort of thing very often so it was a pretty big deal. it would work great for about an hour and freeze up once the cpu warmed up i guess. i figured the fan was broken or something.

anyway... on with the story. they tell me it would be about 7-9 business days before they could work on it because they were backed up so i decided to call and check up on it after 7 days. they give me the standard line of: "you have 2 or so computer in before yours... it'll probably get looked at later today or tomorrow". so this morning i call to check up again and i get the exact same line! i mean word for word!!! "you have 2 or so computer in before yours... it'll probably get looked at later today or tomorrow." i said forget it... i'll be in to pick it up. i got every excuse in the book. just wish they would have been honest with me from the beginning.

but looks like they did me a favor. it hasn't frozen up since i got it back. i was about to send it into apple support... but looks like i am good to go now. we'll see.
