flash inspiration
i'm attending the flash forward conference in austin with mike and rick and i'm getting all this new inspiration from attending the sessions... i just havn't had very much time to play with some new ideas. one thing i remember from last year's conference in san fransisco was a session from brendan dawes based on a book he write called drag slide fade. one of the sample files he provided with the presentation was this text animator which i thought would be cool to morph into something. so here's what i came up with: my book of wisdom widget meets brendan dawes text effect. i placed it at the bottom of each blog page (yes scroll down now to check it out). it's completely random each time the page is loaded... just like the widget. no purpose or reason... just to do it. that's what this guy is all about.

elk
this is the sort of thing you will only see in colorado (or maybe a handful of other states)... we were driving back home late tonight after visiting some friends and we nearly collided with an elk crossing the road. only, this elk was much larger than this stock image photo i found. thankfully we missed it by about 20 feet but definately a close call. boy i've got the fever now... hunting season can't get here soon enough!
